- Flexible data flow between ERP and direct MES
- Better utilisation of the ERP expert system
- Make your production a more critical part of the value chain
- Optimised interaction between your systems
Utilising the direct MES system in harmony with your ERP system is crucial for ensuring a comprehensive solution that supports quality, efficiency, and informed decision-making for your manufacturing business. With integrated systems, your company can scale more effectively and adapt to changes in demand, production needs, and business strategies.
What benefits does good ERP integration provide:
Purchase Orders
For goods receipt to be performed, direct MES depends on having control over all purchase orders from the customer's ERP system. When the receipt of goods is completed, it is registered back to ERP on each line item in the purchase order. In this way, the customer gets updated information seamlessly in their ERP solution.
Purchase orders are also used in requirement calculation to know if required goods are available for production according to planned and new sales orders. The requirement calculation thus has control over existing inventory and goods.
Order Suggestions
For customers who want direct MES to perform requirement calculation, the system will propose purchase suggestions for procurement goods transferred to the ERP's purchasing and ordering module. The order suggestion links the goods needed to the relevant supplier, and the need date is given based on production needs and the supplier's lead time.
Sales Orders
direct MES will be able to receive sales orders from ERP and calculate production orders based on the line items ordered against current inventory and planned production. Several sales orders with similar products can be combined into one production order.
When orders are planned, direct MES can report the production date to ERP so that the sales department has the necessary information to follow up with their customers.
Production Orders
ERP–systems that generate production orders directly will be transferred in their entirety to direct MES for immediate planning. The direct MES system will still be able to create its production orders for the production of components and semi-finished products that production orders depend on.
Inventory
direct MES has its own WMS system to control all goods in stock and production physically. However, ERP needs continuously updated inventory to maintain stock and goods value. Therefore, ERP is constantly updated with the correct inventory.
Product and Structures
The production system direct MES has a complete product and structure management solution with associated operations and resource needs. This is used consistently to control goods needs, planning, and dependencies on performing operations and resource needs.
For customers who still want to have product structures in their ERP system, it will be appropriate to integrate this with direct MES.
Production Status
direct MES can deliver production data to the ERP system, such as material consumption, produced goods, performed measurements, and other tracking information. Ordinary status on progress can be updated continuously so that the responsible has an overview of their ERP system.
