Wonderland moves ERP to the cloud with tight direct FMS integration
In connection with Wonderland's cloud strategy, it has been essential that the integration between AMS's direct FMS system and the new M3 Cloud ERP solution works optimally.
Towards the end of 2022, AMS contributed to the integration with the customer's cloud-based ERP-system, M3. This transition to the cloud was a significant milestone for Wonderland, in line with the company's IT strategy.
The work on this integration was completed in the spring of 2023 and is an excellent example of the role AMS has as a digital partner on production systems at the customer. A critical factor in the collaboration has been the regular communication between AMS and Wonderland, with frequent status meetings on operational matters that are high on the agenda.
Through the collaboration, we have also implemented efficient work processes that have led to smoother operation and support of the systems. Our FMS team, with new and highly competent technologists, is well acquainted with the customers’ needs, and together with solid and future-oriented products, we are ready to contribute to the further digitisation of an excellent customer.
direct FMS at Wonderland
At Wonderland, direct FMS communicates with RFID scanners and PLCs to manage production according to orders retrieved and reported from and to third-party ERP systems. The management involves a conveyor system that transports parts in a streamlined production line. Included are rules that dictate the sequence in which different trolleys filled with various products are moved in and out of different workstations and buffers.
At the workstations, a competence matrix, a combination of the worker's skills and the station's equipment determines which work orders can be tracked to each workstation. The stations are equipped with operator panels where they can see which operations are to be performed and acknowledge completed operations.
direct FMS has an overview of the facility, which trolleys are in each zone at any given time, and the filling levels of buffers indicated by colours.
The facility also includes other machines and inkjet printers with which we communicate.
About Wonderland
Wonderland produces beds of Norwegian quality in Åndalsnes in Romsdalen. We focus on understanding the human need for good sleep and what the body needs to recuperate well. Wonderland wants to contribute to the world's sleeping better. Our job is to make the best beds.
Wonderland's success is the combination of top modern robot technology and over 50 years of knowledge about what provides the best conditions for good sleep.
Unique and top modern robot line
Wonderland's new robot line produces mattresses at a high pace in series with different sizes and properties, unlike robots that usually only make one size or type of mattress at a time.
This is necessary for efficient, order-controlled production, delivering Wonderland's wide range of beds and having fewer mattresses in stock.
