AMS delivers the control system to OPmobility’s factory in Slovakia
OPmobility is one of the world’s largest suppliers to the automotive industry, producing plastic and composite components at its 152 factories in 28 countries, with over 40,000 employees.
AMS has implemented the direct FMS-Control system to produce Land Rover and Jaguar fenders at OPmobilitys factory in Slovakia. The solution manages 4,000 trolleys integrated into two separate conveyor systems.
OPmobility’s operators initiate production based on production plans at the various stations. direct FMS automatically releases empty trolleys from the buffer storage and sends them to available stations. The operators report via the operator panel, and direct FMS sends signals to the PLC to route the trolleys to their next destination.
direct FMS Control system
The system checks which product is loaded onto the trolley at each sensor and RFID reader and direct FMS optimise routing to their next destination. The system communicates with the PLC, sensors and RFID readers, using this information to control all trolleys from buffer storage to moulding. The system also handles communication with the paint line, where the trolleys are sequenced correctly to ensure proper positioning in the paint line.
After the painting process, the trolleys are sent to buffer storage, automatically routed to their designated storage destination and are awaiting transfer to the packing warehouse.
Efficient and automatic manufacturing
In the packing warehouse, direct FMS communicates with the Linx-order system, which transfers orders. These orders provide the basis for deliveries, where trolleys are automatically routed to the respective packing stations according to the products to be delivered.
OPmobility has received a customised and highly efficient solution for optimising production through direct FMS. The system is solid and robust, ensuring high uptime for a manufacturer with stringent requirements.
